Air University (AU)  is a Federally Chartered University, its Headquarter is in located in Islamabad, Pakistan. Its campus is located in the foot of the Margalla hills. The university is co-educational, established to promote higher scientific education in Pakistan and offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees leading to PhD in the fields of engineering and management sciences. The campus is equipped with state of the art laboratories which are among the best in the country. The University is a degree awarding autonomous institution and its graduates are highly valued in the job market which is an evidence of the credibility of its degree as it is affiliated with Pakistan Engineering Council and Higher Education Commission Pakistan. The University is currently ranked among the Top 11000 Universities of the World and is moving up the order year by year.

Islamabad campus

 The Air University Head Quarter is located in the PAF Complex, Sector E-9, Islamabad. The campus is equipped with laboratories, Auditorium, Central Library, Cafeteria, Free Heath Care Facilities and Sports Equipment. Following departments are currently active in the Islamabad Campus:

Academics

Profile 

AU is the model university established by the Pakistan Air Force. The student body consists of over 3,500 students. In 2010, nearly 10,000 candidates applied for the undergraduate programs at AU. AU has over 120 full time employed faculty staff and many professors and lecturers are a part of visiting faculty at AU. In addition to this, eminent professors from reputed universities around the world visit AU as a regular feature under collaborative arrangements. Majority of the faculty members are PhD and M.Phil professors from reputed universities around the world. A few sponsored students and faculty members, doing their PhD from abroad, are scheduled to return to AU from 2008 onwards which will further increase the number of PhD professors in the faculty.

	GCE 'A' level examination with three subjects. The candidates are required to submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Chairman Committee, Islamabad. This certificate must indicate the marks equivalent to marks in Intermediate.
Applicants awaiting results shall be given provisional admission until declaration of their respective results. Applicants scoring 50% or more marks only shall be granted admission. Those scoring less than 50% marks shall have their provisional admissions cancelled and they shall be withdrawn from their respective programmes
Applicants scoring minimum passing marks in Intermediate or in GCE ’A’ level or in any other examination equivalent to intermediate shall be eligible for admission. PhD Engineering
	Masters degree in the relevant area of engineering (24 credit-hours course work plus 6 credit hours thesis) with a CGPA of at least 3.0/4.0 or equivalent.
	Pass subject GRE (above 60 percentile ranking) or pass the University entrance test and obtain above 60%.
	Candidates will appear in the interview for final selection.
PhD Management Sciences
	Masters degree in Management Sciences (24 credit-hours course work along with 6 credit hours for thesis) with a CGPA of at least 3.0/4.0 or equivalent.
	Pass the GAT subject test conducted by the National Testing Service (NTS) with a minimum of 50% cumulative score. OR minimum 50th Percentile in GMAT/GRE Subject.
